Scull Case 		We offer both adjustable length and fixed length sculls. Adjustable length sculls feature a composite handle that allows 5 cm of adjustment. Fixed length sculls are available with either a wooden handle or a bonded composite handle. 


Length Adjustment System

This system utilizes a bonded composite handle with a structural outside grip that is capable of a 5 centimeter range of adjustment.

Features:

  • Simple three-step process adjusts oar length.
  • Redundant design for safety: The grip is keyed to the handle to prevent rotation.
  • Continuous choice of settings over the entire five centimeter range. Each turn of the adjusting screw results in a length change of approximately .25 centimeters.
  • Oars are marked at the handle to indicate overall length of the oar in centimeters.
  • Worn grips or damaged parts are easily replaced.
  • Low-stress, wiggle-free connection withstands heavy use and extends the life of the handle.


Handle Weight & Diameter

The bonded composite handles are the lightest handle we offer. In fact, sculls with the bonded composite handle will feel "blade heavy," because the handle is quite light. The adjustable composite handles weigh about the same as the lightest wood handles. The wood handle weights are variable due to the nature of wood and are also subject to water absorption.

The adjustable handle-with-grip is available in three diameters. In addition, any of our grips can be applied to the bare core of the adjustable system. For the fixed length option, there are two diameters available for both wood and composite handles: narrow and medium. The final diameter of the handle-with-grip depends on the combination of handle and grip chosen. 


Scull Grips

We offer several choices of sculling grips with different textures and thicknesses: 

  • Smooth green rubber, molded onto the adjustable core. These are our standard sculling grip for adjustable handles and are available in Thin, Medium, and Thick.
  • Black rubber: Thick with a smooth surface.
  • Azure Blue: Thick with ribbed texture.
  • Ice Blue: Thin with ribbed texture
  • Blue cellular: Thick with a suede-like texture
