Weight Loss and Wellness Challenge- WEEK 3 + 4

Written by Samantha on May 15th, 2017.

Wow-we, what a couple of weeks that it has been! I got dumped with the flu on my return from Hong Kong and it knocked me for a six. I didn't end up completing any of the workouts for week 3 due to this but I am pleased to tell you all that I made up for last week and completed six workouts this week (week 4).

I think I almost put NZ out of business with the amount of of lemon, honey and ginger I was consuming to try and fight the bug; My absolute go to when my body is feeling under the weather. An important lesson I learnt that week was to really listen to what your body is asking for, and that I did. After I managed to get my way through a Fast and Furious marathon, plenty of hours snoozing, a ton of vitamin C and good food, I was back in shape and ready to conquer week 3+4 nice and strong.

As the weeks are progressing the workouts are becoming a little more testing, both mentally and physically. I was very keen to get back into week 3’s workouts and it was great to smash out my 2x 20 minute pieces. I felt relieved after I had finished the first workout and couldn't wait for the next session, my body was feeling much better and glad that I had fully recovered!

Ill be honest, the 40 minute piece was playing on my mind a little bit and automatically felt tense to know that was my next session. It was a cold morning and decided that time would fly by if I was able to kill two birds with one stone with watching the latest episode of my television series as well as completing my workout. It was great and I was very distracted by the tv and before I knew it I had completed my 40 minutes! I finished off the session and episode with stretches and water to ensure that I wouldn't be stiff for tomorrow and nicely hydrated.

I was able to finish of the rest of the week with a great variety of workouts and during the weekend was lucky enough to head away to the coast where there was a Concept2 overlooking an incredible view of the sea. I have encouraging myself to keep active during my days off with the amount of activity that I have been doing! It was so great on the weekend to enjoy a snippet of New Zealand’s nature and beaches by doing a couple of long walks and bike rides.

Even though the week was a tough one, six workouts done, recovered from the flu I am ready to smash out week 5! Bring it on! I hope everyones journey is going well. Please feel free to contact me at any time!
